A Change of Approach?

When I began this blog long ago with more long-form pieces, in my mind it has always been a place for longer writing and observations. I think, however, this has been the reason that writing here stalled out—the pressure of longer (and more polished) writing always kept me away. This morning, however, it occurred to me that I really need to try (yet another) new approach. Would it be possible to just use this as an online repository for much smaller bite-sized observations and notes?

For the past 18 months I have voraciously read in new areas and have written volumes of personal notes. This morning, while reading my current book, Peter Sloterdijk’s In the World Interior of Capital, I realized that I may have made a mistake in not sharing my notes and observations here—for no other reason than this makes a good repository and I just might find someone else who is reading the same books and connecting similar dots. So, I’m going to test this out by making much smaller posts—perhaps even using the WordPress iPhone app—just to get out pieces of things as I read. These will certainly be less polished as I want to concern myself with connections and not with editing. That can come later. For now my reading notes will be under their own category. Let’s see if this can work.
